Add a blank output and dictate into it
Add an extra note or letter to a consult after your outputs have generated. Add a blank output, then dictate straight into it, without starting a new patient.
Sometimes you finish a consult and realise you want one more document for the same patient: an extra note, a quick referral letter, a message to a colleague. You don't need to start a new patient to do it. Add a blank output to the consult you're already in, then speak the content straight into it.
Before you start: run your consult and generate your outputs as usual. The + button that adds a blank output only becomes available once outputs have been generated.
Add the blank output
Look at the outputs toolbar, above your generated cards. Next to Select Outputs there is a + button.
Click +. A new card titled New Output - Draft appears at the front of your outputs row.
The new card is empty. It shows the prompt Start typing or use the microphone to dictate your content.
You can add as many blank outputs as you need. Click + again for each extra note or letter, then dictate into each one.
Dictate into it
The blank output has a microphone tucked into the top corner of the card. This is Dictate Anywhere.
Hover the card and select the microphone (it reads Dictate).
Recording starts. Moving bars confirm i-scribe is picking up your voice.
Speak your note or letter naturally, the way you would to a colleague.
Select the stop button (the square) when you're finished. Use the x beside it to cancel without saving.
You can dictate in plain language and let i-scribe tidy it up. You don't have to speak the exact final wording or dictate punctuation.
What you'll see
Once you stop, i-scribe transcribes what you said and turns it into a clean, structured document, then drops it into the new output. The card sits alongside the outputs i-scribe generated, and you can rename it, edit it, copy it, or approve it like any other output.
Always read the finished output before you approve or send it. Dictated content is transcribed and tidied automatically, but you remain responsible for the final document.
