Why does it say "the patient" or "they/them"?

The above issues usually occur when the system is uncertain about some details. Below are steps to improve these issues.

Why this occurs?

  • When the system is unsure about some details, it can choose to select ambiguous terms (in an attempt to avoid making a mistake)

How to fix this issue?

  • It helps toclearly tell the system information such as the patient name. A convenient way to do this is to start the transcript with:
    • The clinician saying: "Patient isname, she/he is a here forreason for visit"
      • Some users prefer to say this before the patient is in the room
      • Some users prefer to type this into the transcript before clicking "Start": 
    • As a side note, in general, at the end of a consult, it's also helpful to summarise other key information:
      • "The diagnoses are... "
      • "The plan is... "

  • A quick way to change the patient name or pronouns is with the Adjustor Tool
  • Sometimes issues of incorrect names can be due toan incorrect dictionary entry. It is useful to periodically review your dictionary:
